World AIDS Day is observed every year on December 1. This worldwide effort is designed to encourage public support and programming to prevent the spread of HIV infection, provide awareness and education about HIV/AIDS, and demonstrate compassion for those infected or affected by HIV.
World AIDS Day was first observed in 1988 after a summit of health minsters from around the world called for a spirit of social tolerance and a greater exchange of information on HIV/AIDS. We hope that you will join the Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina on Dorothea Dix Campus on Saturday, December 6, 2014, for our first annual World AIDS Day Remembrance Walk.
We walk to remember those lost, those living and those we must protect against HIV.
Registration begins at 4:00 pm
Opening Prayer begins at 5:00 pm
Walk Begins at 5:15 pm
